About Me

Pilates, is my greatest discovery and I fell in love with it! A Roman poet once wrote "Mens sana in corpore sano" which translates into “a healthy mind in a healthy body”.  A most worthy goal to achieve during these times.

I was born in Italy, and, having been involved in fitness and exercises since early years including overcoming many obstacles, I established fitness as an integral part of my life.

Initially I attended tourism school, and worked as a travel agent for almost 22 years, which opened many doors, but the calling to be involved in the personal training was overwhelming. I attended my first course in 1992 as an Aerobics Instructor, followed by a course in Holistic massage in 1994.  This was followed by the Reebok Professional Health, Fitness and Basic Science of Exercise Foundation Diploma, and the full Pilates Certification Course at the Pilates SA Centre in 2006 with Pilates expert, Nicole Sinoff. I thoroughly enjoy incorporating Pilates together with the Bosu Ball Integrated Balance Trainer, and level 1 of Muscle Activation course as well as  facilitating “Pilates for Kidz” workshops.

Philosophy
My goals is to assist others reach their mental and physical potential. I personally feel Pilates is best coached on a one-on-one arrangement, allowing the first session to assess the client's needs, define their wants and ascertain their present position. Their current state of health indicates the starting point and the road ahead, making steady progress and achieving individual and realistic goals, whether it is fitness, rehabilitation or pregnancy, with a collective improvement in quality of life.

On a personal note:
Other than Pilates, my second passion is my Ducati motorcycle.  Riding provides An excellent stress relief activity and an opportunity to network with other riders both on and off the track. I am the official Fitness Advisor of Janine Mitchell (n.79 Little Miss) one of the top 5 Motorcycle ladies riders in South Africa. Other passions include dancing and Tai Chi as I embrace the movement and art of the body.
